In 1905, founder Hans Wilsdorf established Rolex in London with the aim of creating trustworthy wristwatches. In 1919, the company's headquarters relocated to Geneva, Switzerland. From that point onwards, Rolex introduced three revolutionary technical innovations: the Oyster case, the world's first truly waterproof watch, in 1926; the Perpetual rotor, a self-winding mechanism, in 1931; and the automatic date display in 1945. These three innovations laid the foundation for modern mechanical wristwatches. Rolex is renowned for its reliability and exquisite craftsmanship, setting a standard for the global watchmaking industry.
