The Day-Date series is Rolex's flagship collection, highly cherished since 1956. This series is known for its high-quality 18K gold and platinum materials, with some special editions featuring precious gemstones. What sets it apart is its day display, which doesn't use abbreviations but instead shows the complete name of the day of the week. However, early models required manual adjustment of the day until the Cal. 3055 movement of the 1980s, which introduced the rapid day and date change function. The unique "President bracelet" of the Day-Date series was later used in other Rolex watches but was originally designed specifically for the Day-Date.
